COLDENHAM FIRE DISTRICT

The Coldenham Fire District consists of five publicly-elected officials, the Board of Fire Commissioners, each of whom serves a five year term. Much like the volunteer firefighters we work with, we are not paid to serve as Commissioners. It is our responsibility to provide the necessary apparatus, buildings and equipment needed to assist the Coldenham Fire Department in the fire and rescue activities that are essential for the protection of life and property within the Coldenham Fire District. It is also our responsibility to operate the Coldenham Fire District in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.

BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS

Chairman	Tim Besser	The board meets on a monthly basis, to oversee the operation of the Fire District and to make policies and procedures under which the Fire District and the Fire Company operate. We remain keenly aware of the fiduciary responsibility we hold in representing the taxpayers within our Fire District. As Commissioners, we are mandated to follow a strict formula in preparing the budget in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, including specified spending limits. Our process is a public one, and we welcome the input of the residents and taxpayers we represent in the Coldenham Fire District.

Special Meeting

Please take notice that a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Coldenham Fire District will be held at the Coldenham Fire House, 511 Coldenham Road, Walden, NY at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2012 to open bids for a four wheel drive pick-up truck and any other business of the Coldenham Fire District.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Coldenham Fire District, Walden, NY will receive sealed bids for a four wheel drive pick-up truck.

Bids on said item will be submitted to Coldenham Fire District in sealed envelopes at the Coldenham Fire House 511 Coldenham Road, Walden, New York and each bid shall bear on the face thereof, the name and address of the bidder and be clearly identified as “4 wheel drive pick-up bid”.

Bids will be received at the above address, until 7:00 p.m. on May 14, 2012. All bids received will be publicly read aloud at that time.

Bidders must note that their bid must comply with the Laws of the State of New York and the “Non-Collusive Bid Certification” required by Section 103-d of the General Municipal Law, must be submitted with each bid.

The board of Fire Commissions reserves the right to consider bids for a period of thirty (30) days after their opening, during which time no bidder may withdraw his bid and the right is reserved to the Board of Fire Commissioners to accept or reject any and all bids.

COLDENHAM FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Coldenham Fire District will hold regularly scheduled meetings at 7:30 P.M. on the first Monday after the first Tuesday of the month for the calendar year of 2012. The regular monthly meetings will be preceded by a work session beginning at 7:00 P.M. The meetings will take place in the hall of the Coldenham Fire House 511 Coldenham Road Walden NY.The meeting dates are as follows: February 13, March 12, April 9, May 7, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 5 and December 10, 2012.
